New Jobs Coaching goes from Strength to Strength
ID Support's Jobs Coaching service is growing as a result of recent training and the development of a partnership with North Tyneside local authority. Since the development of the service in March 2011 ID have been successful in supporting young adults into work placements. Lisa Hamilton, manages a team of three support staff in working with a number of people in and around North Tyneside. This is a service that ID is keen to replicate in other local areas.
Recent achievements
One person receiving Jobs Coaching support has successfully finished their first placement and is moving on to their second placement, working 3 days a week for 3 months. They are being supported to develop their skills and hope to gain a permanent position within the company during or after the placement.
Another young woman is almost ready to move on from a 3 month placement and is considering the options of applying for a permanent post within the same firm, or to pursue a placement in another field of work. The Jobs Coach has plans in place for both options. Another major achievement for the young woman has been to increase her skills and confidence in travelling independently to and from work.
Other people are being supported by Jobs Coaches and are in the early stages of seeking employment.
