ID Statement of Health and Safety
ID Training recognises and accepts its responsibility as an employer and training provider for carrying out its business which will not, so far as reasonably practicable, give rise to any undue risk to the Health and Safety of its employees, learners, clients and others.
We will make every effort to comply with our obligations, as laid down in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1992. Our statement of general policy is:
- To provide adequate control of the health & safety risks arising from our work activities;
- To consult with our employees on matters affecting their health & safety;
- To provide and maintain safe plant and equipment;
- To ensure safe handling and use of equipment and substances;
- To provide information, instruction and supervision for employees;
- To ensure all employees are competent to do their tasks, and to give them adequate training;
- To try and prevent accidents and cases of work-related ill health;
- To maintain safe and healthy working conditions; and
- To review and revise this policy as necessary at regular intervals.
- To undertake to carry out risk assessments.
ID Training is committed to the Safe Learner Concept and will promote risk education and awareness and the learning of health and safety as an integral part of our provision by ensuring learners:
- Are accommodated in a safe, healthy and supportive learning environment and given a mentor;
- Where applicable have an initial assessment identifying their health, safety and welfare needs and any additional help or support that they may require
- The initial assessment is used to develop an individual learning plan which includes the learner's initial and ongoing health, safety and welfare training needs;
- Supervision levels are appropriate to any risks identified and the individual's capability, needs and experience
- Receive ongoing information, instruction and training to enable him/her to work and learn efficiently and safely; and
- Develop understanding and awareness of key health, safety and welfare issues which will be assessed and evaluated on an on-going basis;
We will, as far as is reasonably practicable, take action to:
- Ensure the effective implementation of this policy
- Define areas of responsibility for Health and Safety where appropriate
- Ensure that all employees, learners and clients whose participation in the effective implementation of this policy is vital, are constantly aware of the contents of this policy.
- ID Training takes the view that people are our most valuable asset and are willing to discuss with any or all employees, learners and clients any aspects of Health and Safety at Work.
- The Company reminds all employees of their duties under section 7 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, to take care of their own safety and that of other workers, and to co-operate with the Company so as to enable it to carry out its responsibilities.
A copy of this statement will be issued to all employees and learners. It will be reviewed, added to or modified and may be supplemented in appropriate cases by further statements.
