Glenn has worked in a number of services for people with learning disabilities. Glenn has developed his skills and knowledge through study on numerous courses and training programmes, including NVQ 4 in Management. In his role as Citizen Advocacy Coordinator at Advocacy in Gateshead that he held for 6 years, Glenn successfully developed an accredited Volunteer Advocacy Worker training programme. He was also responsible for the recruitment, training and support of volunteers and staff. As well as facilitating self-advocacy groups, Glenn also advocated on behalf of individuals in crisis, e.g. people with learning disabilities sectioned under the Mental Health Act. The combination of experience and knowledge that Glenn possesses has contributed greatly to his role as Training Officer for Interactive Development.
